How to Join and Undertake the BRITAM MicroInsurance Direct Sales Representative Training

Welcome to the Britam Micro-Insurance Academy. In order to increase your income potential, BRITAM has prepared the following courses for you:

• Basics of micro insurance training for agents covering:
  • Introduction to micro Insurance
  • Micro DSR skills
  • Insurance sales skills
  • The Insurance Act Cap 487 and Insurance Regulatory Authority regulations
• Basics of micro insurance training for clients
• Personal Accident Cover
• Funeral Cover (last expense)
• Medical Cover

Getting Started

To be approved to start selling as a Micro Direct Sales Representative (Micro DSR) you are required to:

• Listen in full to the INTRODUCTION (BASICS) content AND
• Listen in full to any one of the following courses as you wish:
  • PERSONAL ACCIDENT
  • LAST EXPENSE (FUNERAL)
  • MEDICAL (HEALTH)

Important note: The INTRODUCTION (BASICS) course is MANDATORY for you to sell any type of insurance policy. Completion means you get 100% completion status. If you skip listening to any part of the content you will not achieve the required 100%.

Getting Certified

To get a BRITAM MICRO DSR CERTIFICATE, you are required to take the full course meaning you must:

• Listen to ALL COURSE MATERIAL
• TAKE THE QUESTION & ANSWER TEST
• ACHIEVE AN OVERALL PASS MARK OF 80%

The courses you must take in full are:

• INTRODUCTION (BASICS)
• PERSONAL ACCIDENT
• LAST EXPENSE (FUNERAL)
• MEDICAL (HEALTH)
• 12 QUESTIONS (Q&A)

Training Access

You can listen to the content in the MIA App. If you do not have internet connection, you can access the content this way:

• Dial USSD code *483*585*5#
• Ensure your phone has at least KES 5 of airtime before you dial the access code
• Always use the phone number you registered in the BRITAM MOBILE APP
